Jersey Valley County Park. I hadn’t visited in a few years, so I wasn’t prepared for the sight when I arrived at sunrise. This was once a beautiful lake. There was a massive fish kill due to manure runoff in the spring of 2005. The lake had been drawn down previously to try to kill off invasive Eurasian water-milfoil. Other problems with the lake’s structure/dam were discovered during this process. Sadly, a decision was just made not to refill the lake to its original size. It’ll be half the size.
